It has been described as "London's very own Eden Project, right on our doorstep"
Butterfly world opens on 29th April 2010.it is a 27 acre site. shaped like a giant butterfly's head, by 2011 a 100 metre diameter biome will open and be filled with 10,000 tropical butterflies. Before this a tropical butterfly house will display over 500 butterflies to marvel at and prepare us for 2011. Amongst its attractions will be:
- Tropical butterfly house with 500 butterflies
- 20 acres of spectacular wildflower meadows
- Butterfly breeding house
- Individual gardens designed by celebrated designer Ian Hicks
- Centre of excellence for conservation and environmental studies
- Talks by on site leading specialists
