Sopwell Lunch Club – 5th February
Welcome to the first sitting of the Sopwell Lunch Club. Every month the Chef and his executive team will welcome new friends and old to the award winning two rosette Restaurant at Sopwell House for a special luncheon. Each month the team will create a delightful, seasonal three course menu for our lunch club to enjoy and provide a demonstration masterclass or informative talk between courses.
This month the team will be explaining how to make the most of seasonal produce and give a demonstration on how to prepare an often overlooked meat in the home – Guinea Fowl.
Guinea Fowl makes a great alternative to chicken for a warming and hearty dinner in the winter months. It has a lovely flavour that is slightly gamey but very subtle (much less assertive than pheasant or grouse). It can be magnificent when cooked simply or when combined with more robust flavours (try baked Guinea Fowl with garlic beans and smoked sausage!).
